Featured artworks includes a selection of works across Michael Shiell’s practice. Given the breadth of his practice some pieces are smaller, intimate interactions with the location, while others are monumentally scaled works created with the support of other people. Some are purposefully short-lived ephemeral pieces intended to retrogress back into the land while other works are more semi-permanent outcomes. The breadth of approaches and outcomes are intended to raise questions about the role of impermanence, materiality, audience and the site for both the artist and the viewer.
